Parish Assembly

I often wonder if I should reinvent myself on the web. I am finding it increasingly more difficult to comment on those things that really hack me off!

Political Correctness is stiffling me. I actually feel like I can't write anything that is a Personal Opinion as you can guarentee someone somewhere will get the hump. Sometimes it is that bad in real life as well as. Then when you try to be PC you are often classed as patronising once again not just on line but in real life.

Personal Opinion Only

I went to a Parish Assembly the other day the turn out was very good which is great news. The Bad news was I would imadgine I was one of the youngest there and I am not young. It was like Ground Hog day and all the things being discussed were being discussed a few years back when I could class myself as youngish.

I got really annoyed when the CEO of SDC announced he was concerned that the local people had written to their MP with reference to the possible sale of site and land identified as no longer wanted by SDC. He actually referred to such letters as confetti letters. I was also concerned when he said the BIG Society is not all about grouping together and opposing things that wern't wanted. However he failed to tell us what it was about. He missed a trick there and showed his colours. The Big Society is about finding the best solution to the problem and for our Council to listen to us. I nearly fell off my chair when the CEO announced that planning came down on the side of the person who wanted to build and we had to find a reasonable reason why they shouldn't build or words to that effect. Why the hell have we got planning laws is my question? I am off to build the foundations of a six story block of flats in my Garden now!

I was equally as fedup when I heard our County Councillor tell us how much had been done in Henley, Stratford everywhere but Flipping Earlswood and Forshaw Heath. I am led to understand he is Local but then promptly told us the people of the community there was not a problem with speed on our lanes. Well of course there is not a problem with speed on our lanes the majority is set at the National Speed Limit. What there is a problem with is unreasonable driving standards and consideration for the conditions and surroundings.

I was even more surprised when it was announce T-I-A had not got a Parish Plan having had a little look on the some of the surrounding Parishes have a Plan and guess what they all come towards Earlswood. How short sighted can a Parish be.

Have a plan instead of having someone buy a peice of land and impose development on us.

Our District Councillor could actually see alll this and possible problems he took the time to explain.. I give credit where credit is due the bloke appeared to be on the ball.

I was absolutely appalled that older members of the community that attended chose chastise those that wanted to say something or ask a question with the excuse it was going on to long. Well I am sorry I we had the CEO of SDC our County Councillor our District Councillor our Parish Chairman all in one room all at the same time. I for one won't miss the opportunity to ask a question?

I am also annoyed our Local PCSO didn't give his report first and then allowed to go. In this day and age with limited resources making him wait until almost last was not the best use of resources. He is a highly thought of Policeman and is liked by the community but making him wait in a village hall to give a report is very short sighted.

All in all Parish Assembly was like ground hog day. Time we all found something different to talk about.

Crime Stats Alcester North October 2020

Well as crime has been on my mind for the last couple of weeks and it has always appeared difficult to find any meaningful crime stats. I have at long last found the information used by the Police lurking on the Police.uk website. It is not live data and runs approx 6 to 8 weeks in arrears for example October 2020 is now visible. This is a totally interactive tool, easy to use and has a great dashboard, what is good about this tool it also provides outcomes. The default is for the whole of the Alcester North area however it is simple to find out where the hot spots are and which crimes have been included. So for those of you keeping an eye on the stats this may well be the tool to use. To get to the information  just click the link  below Alcester North Crime Data
