Multi Media Internet and Mobile phones on holiday

Is it a good thing or a bad thing? Well I suppose the answer to that question is what sort of person you are and what sort of holiday you are on. I for one like those holidays you can have without the interruption of home or work. I use my holiday to unwind and do exactly what I want to do. It normally consists of eating stacks drinking copious amounts walking for miles and reading.

Its taken a couple of years but I now love to have my mobile phone with me as it acts as a camcorder and camera + if my nearest and dearest want to get hold of me they can. It has also acted as a sat nav which has proved most useful. And the most comforting part of my little cheap phone is that I can quite simply use it as a radio as well.

During my short stay in the middle of nowhere last year the OH and I decided to go back as the complete wind down was exactly what we needed. He asked me to take the laptop with me so as we could watch a few DVDs as I must admit the evenings are long and dark and in the middle of nowhere there is only so much you can do.

As we moved out of our little hidey hole in the mountains and moved to the coastal abode. I unpacked the laptop and powered it up, why I really don’t know it is probably a matter of habit. Our coastal abode is no longer as basic as it was, as my laptop powered up I noticed it had picked up a wireless connection. It happened to belong to our neighbor who allows visitors of the house to use it.

I just couldn’t resist it. Hopping on line checking my emails and checking out what else is going on and there I was whilst the OH was having a siesta! I was quietly tapping away on my keyboard and updating my blog.

Is it a bad thing or a sad thing? Some may say the later I suppose I could agree but I still can’t get over the fact how clever technology is.

The dormouse, reptile, bat and butterfly surveys will be continuing and we hope to undertake a bee survey as well but if you have any suggestions of the type of activities you would like please get in touch. Crime Stats Alcester North October 2020

Well as crime has been on my mind for the last couple of weeks and it has always appeared difficult to find any meaningful crime stats. I have at long last found the information used by the Police lurking on the Police.uk website. It is not live data and runs approx 6 to 8 weeks in arrears for example October 2020 is now visible. This is a totally interactive tool, easy to use and has a great dashboard, what is good about this tool it also provides outcomes. The default is for the whole of the Alcester North area however it is simple to find out where the hot spots are and which crimes have been included.
